First Week Home

Audrey's first week home from the hospital was filled with beautiful flowers, dilectable meal deliveries, funny cousin visits, and lots of loves from big brother and big sister.

She is continually baffled by her surroundings and caretakers.

Her first bath went swimmingly.

Savannah could hold her and stare at her for hours. But she could also gauge her eyes out, so we supervise very closely.

And Tate... I think he's only held her twice now. He loves her, but he has more pressing matters that demand his attention. Like cardboard box transmografiers and interplanetary lego missions. Things like that.

Audrey Elizabeth Staker

Monday, May 14, 2007, 7:59am. 6 lbs 9 oz. 19.5 inches. Practically perfect in every way.

Success.

Heather and Audrey came through with flying colors. About five or six hours after birth, Audrey finished getting the extra fluid out of her lungs and earned her first visit to mommy.

daddy

I know you're all concerned, but dad came through the delivery with flying colors as well, thank you. I got a little hungry at one point. And the doctors weren't very attentive to me. But I loved being the first one to spend some quality time with the baby. Audrey is a perfect little angel.

Audrey Joins the Party

The still photo works to illustrate the magic of this first meeting, but fails to properly convey the amount of energy that was expended. Please view the clip for a more accurate represtentation of Audrey Meeting World:

Baby Audrey gets her first dose of older siblings. Our favorite Tate quote during the encounter: "Baby Audrey, do you recognize me? Do you remember me? I was a baby once, too!"

Big Brother, Big Sister

While Heather nears the popping point, Tate and Savannah take a moment to ride some aquatic creatures at Disney's California Adventure.

Leon's Getting Larger

With only days before her due date, Heather feels like she's about to pop. But she still looks like a Rock Star. That's, um, nine months pregnant. And about to pop.

This is what happens now when you ask Tate to smile for the camera. We're proud parents.
